I have had the pleasure of working with Alexandria for the past year as she provides part-time care for my now two year old daughter. She has worked with my husband and I from the very beginning of being at home with our baby and then faced with returning to work and leaving our child in the care of someone else. Not an easy transition.
Alexandria was a wonderful blessing from the start. She is warm, cognizant and very approachable in discussing care required/provided. She is extremely mindful of each child's educational/emotional needs and presents ongoing learning challenges to benefit them with not only school skills but life skills as well. The wonderful part is that Alexandria does this in a safe, loving home setting. Her home is filled with great food, strong values, and lots of joy and laughter to promote happy, healthy children.
My daughter loves going to spend time with Alexandria. She will ask about her or when she is going back when we've had some holiday time. That speaks louder than any recommendation I could give. My husband and I have complete and total peace of mind when we drop our daughter off and I'm not sure there is any greater gift than that.
Alexandria from Lilybug Learning has been taking care of my son who is now just over 13 months old for the past several months and I couldn't be happier with her services. My son is well cared for in a safe, loving, happy and overall nurturing environment where he is able learn and grow both emotionally, intellectually and socially. I really appreciate Alexandria's ability to ensure there is open communication between herself as provider and the parents through daily and weekly updates, an activity update which includes foods eaten, daily activities and any outdoor time. This, in addition to a general run-down of the day's events when I pick my son up, makes for great communication. It is just a bonus that she believes in healthy food choices and providing outdoor activity and exercise as well, weather permitting! Something I have grown to really appreciate about Lilybug Learning, is that Alexandria is always willing to consider new requests and has always done her best to accommodate our needs, making the transition for my son from homecare to daycare as smooth as possible by ensuring that he has a similarly safe, loving and consistent approach to his daily care. Lastly, Alexandria's genuine joy passion when caring for children is transparent and overflows into all of their daily activities, making it a fun place for my son to grow! I am thoroughly enjoying the paintings amp; crafts he brings home!
My son, Matthew has autism. When Matthew met Allie for the first time he instantly accepted her as a person he could trust and feel comfortable with, he even let her hug him. "Hug him," if you know autism - this in itself is an action that speaks louder than words. My granddaughter had the opportunity to spend a day in Allies program as well, she enjoyed the experience so much she didn't want to leave. She loved the new friends she met, and the fun she had that day, especially acting out and singing "The Wheels On The Bus". A visit to her home and you can see that Allie provides a loving and caring home. She is a qualified caregiver who provides excellent programs that prepare children for the next phase in their lives. She invites young children to explore and learn in a fun, safe and engaging environment. Providing balanced and nutritious meals, and snacks is a way of life for her and her family everyday. I know that as a parent you can feel confident that your child is getting a solid foundation of social, emotional and academic learning in a positive and healthy environment.
During the year and a half that I knew and worked with Alexandria, I found her to be enthusiastic, joyful, hardworking, attentive to detail, and most of all, she exuded love for children. In watching her work with the children, she was always interested in what they were doing or had to say. She gave them her full, undivided attention, and made them feel like they were the most special person she knew. Alexandria always had a huge smile on her face, and the children responded to her obvious joy and love for them and for life. Alexandria knew when to just let situations follow through, or when she needed to step in to either diffuse a difficult situation, or change the direction of an activity that the children were involved in. Though always loving, firm control was never a problem for Alexandria. I would work with Alexandria again in a heartbeat. Alexandria McLellan is the most kind hearted, genuine individual I have ever met. She will go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, included, and loved. Alexandria has the personality to make you feel totally comfortable the first second you meet her! Her family is everything to her and she makes you feel like you're a part of her family as well. |
